Manifestations of preschool children cognitive activity in different types of activities

The article presents a theoretical analysis of the problem of preschool children cognitive activity development in different types of activities. The definitions of the concepts are clarified as follows: «activity», «cognitive activity», etc. А number of features of the of senior preschool children's cognitive activity development in different types of activities have been analyzed. Аn empirical study of the of cognitive activity of preschool children in different types of activities has been carried out. The article presents the results of a survey of third-year students of the educational qualification level «bachelor», extramural form of study of the Dragomanov Ukrainian State University, specialty «Preschool Еducation», which highlight the modern view of students on key concepts, types of children's activities in which cognitive activity is manifested, methods and techniques for activating cognitive activity, creating an environment favorable for cognitive development. The influence of computer games on the formation of personality in preschool childhood has been analyzed. It has been discovered that the third-year students of the bachelor's degree, extramural form of study, place great importance on the development of cognitive activity, define the concepts of «engagement» and «activity» as similar and identical. The manifestations of cognitive activity are observed in the following activities: game, creative, search and research and speech. It has been found that such centres of the developmental environment as research, creative, and sensory are effective for the cognitive development of children. Еffective methods and techniques for the cognitive development of preschool children are identified. These are conducting quiz games, using problem-search situations, inventing riddles, fairy tales, solving game tasks, asking questions, etc.
The authors of the article suggest that at the present stage of preschool education development, cognitive development has become especially necessary for the formation of a successful preschooler's personality. Cognitive activity is manifested in the types of children's activities and is formed through the use of effective methods and techniques, as well as through the organization of a favorable
developmental environment in a modern preschool education institution.
